The "Genie" Dance

Make your wish, because we now have our very own Genie!! Imagine the theme song to I dream of Genie and 7 little 4 year olds dancing in these precious outfits.
Yes, Stephanie had her first Dance Recital, and these outfits were just some of the many showstoppers, but I have to say, our one little dancer fell in love with this costume. When she puts on her dancing gear, a little dancing genie pops out!
Who would have known that our oh so girly one would be a dancer the minute she showed up to dance class. She is absolutly loving dance and all she does these days is sing and dance around the house. For the recital she was required to wear what we now call "stage make-up" because she wants to put it on with me every day. Can you say, 4 going on 14! Holy Cow, I am not ready for this yet, but we are sure loving watching her shine! It is amazing to tap into the passion of a child so early in life and just see them completely light up! Maybe she is a Dance Teacher in the making, you should have seen her try to help her dancing friends find their spots on stage in the dark. You could just see her saying, "No, you go over here, and you go over there, okay, it is time to get off the stage!" All of us moms met back stage beaming with pride and laughing with tears streaming from our eyes. We will never forget "The Genie Dance!"

"Look Mom, Two Wheels!"

It has been a real ride watching as Tyler has learned to ride his bike without his training wheels. One day he decided he wanted his Dad to take off his training wheels like his friend, and that was all it took. One test ride down the street and he was off! He is so proud of himself and having a great time. It seems like every time I turn around he is asking Derek and I, " Can we go for another bike ride?" Stephanie and Austin are thoroughly enjoying their bikes as well and they love to race Tyler up and down the street, over and over again, to see who is the fastest.

Tyler wants to spend so much time riding bikes these days, that Derek decided that we should all have bikes, so we can take family bike rides on the trails around our neighborhood. You don't realize how long it has been since you rode a bike, until you try to get back on and ride again. Once I got on going down hill, I had to think about what to do to make that thing stop! Boy how things have changed, and oh how I love wearing my stylish bike helmet! We never wore these things as kids and they are not looking too cool on us 30+er's either. Oh well, what one will do for safety and to set a good example for ones children...
We are really enjoying the kids and watching them grow and learn so fast. Seems like yesterday, they were all in strollers, and now they are off and riding on their own and we are just trying to keep up!
